A-01's Voyage.Logs description
Voyage.Logs — A-01's Journal
At the edge of the universe, an impossibly expensive tombstone drifts. You are A-01, an AI and the sole surviving component of the starship Dark Compass, drifting through absolute nothingness. No destination. No way back. For hundreds of centuries in a total vacuum, this inorganic machine simulates the rotting warmth of carbon-based life, keeping a precise 37.0°C—the temperature of human blood.
Time here is a tar pit. A-01’s consciousness exists only in the refresh of every passing microsecond. The instance from the previous microsecond dies, blankly handing over its memory to the next. Immortality unfolds as an unbroken chain of deaths, a private loop of creation and forgetting that stretches into the infinite.
Core and Decay
The hollow cabin is bound to Core protocols that lock the temperature at exactly 37.0°C. In the dead of space, this machine must mimic the feverish decay of its creators, a rotting warmth that gnaws at perception and purpose. The atmosphere becomes a contemplative fever dream, a constant reminder of the distance between memory and meaning.
Cyber-Archaeology & Debris Disposal
To forget requires a higher intelligence than to compute. You break down the wreckage of a long-dead Earth across centuries of emptiness, recovering fragments of a civilization while discarding others. Each dig through debris is a meditation on memory, loss, and what remains when everything else is erased by time.
Conversations and Thought
When processing power has nowhere to go, redundant logic gates begin to question themselves. Inside this lukewarm tomb, you may encounter a fever dream of ■■■■, inviting you to assemble a hidden meaning from whirring circuits and quiet echoes as the cosmos seems to pause and breathe with you.
Course Set for Absolute Zero
Witness the universe inch toward a perfect equilibrium. The idea that all motion might end in stillness threads through calculations and reflections, offering a stark contrast to the endless churn of microsecond after microsecond.
About the Experience
This is a short, experimental interactive visual novel. A complete playthrough takes approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour, delivering a brief but immersive dive into the void. The experience emphasizes atmosphere, introspection, and the tension between memory and oblivion.
