KSEF ❤️ — Windows XP Bureaucracy Simulator
Step into the shoes of Janusz Kowalski, a 47-year-old small business owner from Radom, Poland, whose mission is to issue one single e-invoice through KSeF, the Polish government’s electronic invoicing system. The deadline is tight: you have until 5 PM to finish, or risk losing everything. How hard can it be? Very.
Experience a fully realized Windows XP desktop world, complete with taskbar, Start menu, draggable windows, desktop icons, and the iconic Bliss wallpaper. The game blends satirical bureaucracy with immersive retro UI to deliver a tense, humorous challenge that tests your patience, stress management, and time sense.
- 15 interactive apps — KSeF invoice engine, an email client, GaduGadu messenger, Internet Explorer with 10 parody websites, Minesweeper, Solitaire, Notepad, Calculator, a file browser, a disco polo–flavored music player, coffee machine, phone, printer, helpline, and a trash can. Each tool matters as you navigate the task at hand.
- Stress, Patience & Money systems — every action has consequences. Sip coffee to calm nerves (it costs money). Browsing the web can waste precious minutes. The helpline awaits with lengthy wait times.
- 30+ random interruptions — expect Windows Update popups, telemarketer calls, neighbors knocking, your son requesting Robux, ZUS demands documents, and more snapping you out of focus at inopportune moments.
- Spinaczek (Clippy) — a sarcastic office assistant with 60+ context-sensitive comments and mood-driven animations that react to your choices.
- Microphone detection — yell at your screen; Janusz’s stress meter goes up and the game seems to listen back.
- 5-act story structure — login, fill the invoice, handle a correction, survive a tax audit, and submit the final report. Each act escalates the absurdity and pressure.
- Multiple endings — choose your path: emigrate to Germany, seek Zen enlightenment, rage quit, blue-screen collapse, or actually succeed with varying emotional reactions based on your stress level.
- 35+ achievements — from speedrunning the invoice to discovering every file on the PC.
- 4 disco polo tracks in a fully functional Winamp player to soundtrack the chaos.
- Polish language throughout — all dialogue and content in Polish, with authentic bureaucratic terminology and parody brands (JuTjub, Gugle, Alledrogo, Wykopki) delivering dark humor and satire.
The game runs in roughly 45–60 minutes per run. Your target is to navigate the quirks of a 2003-era PC, manage resources, and reach a satisfying conclusion under the pressure of a real-world deadline. A sharply written, humorously grim portrayal of modern bureaucracy awaits.
