Close to the Sun is a first-person horror adventure game set in an alternate 1897, inspired by the visionary ideas of Nikola Tesla. Players embark on a haunting journey aboard the colossal sea cruiser, Helios, a utopian vessel designed for the world's most brilliant scientists, yet shadowed by a sinister fate. As journalist Rose Archer, your quest is to find your sister, Ada, amid the chaos of a research haven isolated from society.
Upon entering the Helios, players encounter grand halls adorned with impressive gold effigies, but the atmosphere is thick with tension and decay, highlighted by the word "QUARANTINE" marking its entrance. The ship, eerily silent, is filled with secrets waiting to be uncovered.
Gameplay includes solving intricate puzzles, searching for hidden collectibles, and unlocking inaccessible areas, while confronting the lurking dangers of the Helios. Players must rely on their wits to navigate the eerie environment, as there are no weapons or defense mechanisms—only the primal instincts of evasion.
Developed with stunning visuals using Unreal Engine 4, Close to the Sun combines elements reminiscent of Bioshock and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, offering a rich narrative filled with Tesla's innovations and dark secrets.
