Alea Jacta Est Cantabrian Wars description

Alea Jacta Est: Cantabrian Wars

In Alea Jacta Est: Cantabrian Wars, players dive into the tumultuous period following Octavian's victory at Actium in 30 BC. With Rome firmly under his control, Octavian reorganizes the empire, utilizing the riches acquired from Egypt, while reserving Gaul, Hispania, and Syria for direct governance. His mission is clear: to eliminate pockets of resistance within his provinces and secure Roman dominance.

Tasked with quelling the uprising in Hispania, General Titus Taurus Statilius leads a military campaign against the Vaccaei tribe in 29 BC. The conflict draws in the Asturian and Cantabrian tribes, representing the last bastions of independence in northern Hispania. What starts as a swift campaign evolves into a prolonged war lasting until 19 BC, demanding the deployment of multiple legions and eventually the personal involvement of Octavian, who later assumes the title of Augustus.

As players navigate through the complexities of military strategy and diplomacy, they will witness the harsh consequences of Roman conquest, including numerous battles, massacres, and the final acceptance of the Pax Romana by the defeated tribes, under the command of Agrippa. Experience the trials of war as you shape the fate of an empire.
