Train Simulator: DB Schenker Class 59/2 Loco Add-On description

Train Simulator: DB Schenker Class 59/2 Loco Add-On

The BR Class 59/2, a key player in the evolution of heavy freight locomotives, expands the Train Simulator experience with its modern DB Schenker livery. Initially ordered by Foster Yeoman in 1985, the original Class 59 was developed to replace the aging Class 56 and was designed in collaboration with General Motors Electro-Motive Division. This robust locomotive, based on the EMD SD40-2, boasts a powerful 3,300 horsepower engine capable of hauling significant loads like stone and coal across the UK.

The Class 59/2 variants, built between 1994 and 1995, introduced advanced features such as improved slow speed controls, modern fire safety systems, and enhanced top speeds reaching 75mph (120km/h). Currently operated by DB Schenker and maintained by Mendip Rail, these locomotives play a crucial role in freight transport. The add-on includes JHA 102t bogie aggregate hopper wagons and is Quick Drive compatible, allowing for seamless integration into various routes.

Players can engage in three dedicated scenarios for the North London Line, delivering an immersive experience. Discover the capabilities of the BR Class 59/2 in Train Simulator today!
