Throughout the game, players will place troops, build fortifications, and invade neighboring regions. Each turn provides fresh opportunities to acquire Da Vinci’s remarkable projects, enabling the construction of castles, tanks, and aircraft—critical components on the path to victory. Players must carefully balance risk and caution, as powerful weaponry like tanks and bombards come with their own dangers, such as the potential for explosive mishaps.

With a single-player mode featuring up to three AI opponents, each drawn from a diverse pool of ten unique characters, Magnifico also includes an in-depth tutorial and detailed manual.
