Graviteam Tactics: Shilovo 1942 description

Graviteam Tactics: Shilovo 1942

Shilovo 1942 is an exciting expansion for Graviteam Tactics: Operation Star, introducing a new summer operational area centered around the village of Shilovo on the Voronezh front, spanning an expansive 80 sq.km. This addon features two distinct military operations taking place in early July 1942, one tailored for the Red Army and the other for the Wehrmacht, each comprised of 13 turns.

Set against the backdrop of intense combat from July 4 to July 6, 1942, players engage in fierce battles over the strategically crucial Shilovo bridgehead. The German forces, part of the 24th Panzer Division, initially crossed the Don River, aiming to capture Voronezh and advance toward Stalingrad. Meanwhile, Soviet defenses were orchestrated by the 232nd Rifle Division and its accompanying tank brigades, resulting in highly tactical engagements shaped by the challenging terrain and air support dynamics.

The battles feature historical units, with the Wehrmacht deploying battalions from 21st and 26th Infantry Regiments, while the Red Army challenges with elements from multiple rifle and tank regiments. Shilovo 1942 encapsulates the high-stakes conflict of the Eastern Front, blending strategy with historical authenticity.
