The 257th Element

In the year 2032, a groundbreaking scientific discovery reshapes the world: Araraginium, the 257th element, is unveiled by Tokyo scientists, enabling the materialization of matter and the astonishing resurrection of the deceased as Araragi Humans. This phenomenon occurs after a catastrophic accident during the first experiment with Araraginium, which disperses it throughout Tokyo. Days later, individuals thought to be dead unexpectedly reappear, retaining memories from their past.

The story follows Masakazu Tokimune, a high school student navigating a life that intertwines humor, intrigue, and romantic entanglements in a futuristic Tokyo. As society grapples with the implications of Araraginium, the Araragi Humans—those who perished between the accident and 72 hours prior—exist under constant surveillance by the government’s Araragi Watcher organization to prevent their instant disappearance.

Rich with thematic elements that go beyond mere atomic structures, the game introduces abstract concepts referred to as “elements,” highlighting the existence of minuscule and invisible Gaia elements. Set in captivating locales like Shinsei Shonogamigakuen High School and the enigmatic Island Where Dreams Come True, players embark on a thrilling journey through a world where life, death, and everything in between blur in a fascinating narrative.
