Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure set on the vast continent of Pywel, a land of mystery, fantasy, and constant danger. Your journey follows Kliff, a hardened warrior of the mercenary band known as the Greymanes, after a devastating night ambush by their sworn enemies—the Black Bears—leaves his comrades dead or scattered across the continent.

Driven by loss and loyalty, Kliff sets out to find the survivors, rebuild the fallen Greymanes, and reclaim what was taken. Along the way, alliances are forged under pressure, unfamiliar factions reveal themselves, and a growing conflict hints at an unprecedented threat—one that pulls Kliff toward a destiny far larger than vengeance. Key figures from the Greymanes, including Oongka, Yann, and Naira, shape the story as Kliff confronts the brutal aftermath of the attack and the shadow cast by the Black Bears’ leader, Myurdin.

Pywel invites exploration across distinct regions: bustling towns and quiet hamlets, sweeping plains, harsh deserts, towering mountains, and ancient places forgotten by time. Movement and discovery are as important as combat. Travel freely using a variety of mounts—from horses and wolves to more extraordinary rides like a dragon or even machines. Scale cliffs and walls, leap into the air to glide across gaps, and step through mystical gates into the strange realm known as the Abyss.

Combat is fast, visceral, and unforgiving—where a split second can decide survival.
