The Procession to Calvary

A post-war adventure where the dust of conquest settles on a world built from Renaissance masterpieces. The holy war is over and your oppressors are fallen, but the tyrant Heavenly Peter has slipped from your grasp. Your task is clear: track him down, bring him to justice, and decide how far you’ll go to exact your revenge.

Explore a richly crafted landscape assembled from hundreds of paintings by masters such as Rembrandt, Botticelli and Michelangelo. The world is brought together with a single-minded respect for the original works, creating a coherent stage for your bizarre and humorous journey.

The game uses a classic point-and-click interface with a verb coin for actions and a simple drag-and-drop inventory to manage items you collect along the way. It’s a standalone story, though it shares a universe with Four Last Things, inviting fans to notice the links without requiring prior chapters.

Your mission unfolds through a sequence of peculiar tasks and encounters: steal a ship, feed a donkey, compete in a talent contest, assist an inept street magician, sing, dance, play the flute, poke a man’s face, hunt for treasure, and even chat with Our Lord God Almighty. Some paths offer an optional route—an unused weapon in a sword you may wield to skip puzzles—but beware: your choices might echo back and haunt you.

The Procession to Calvary blends surreal humor with lofty themes. Its Monty Python–style nonsense treats serious subjects with refreshing irreverence, including jokes about butts that are taken very seriously. Yet the puzzles follow a consistent internal logic, and there are moments of surprising profundity—though sometimes the punchline is that there isn’t a grand profundity to unpack.

Music accompanies your journey: a classical score featuring works by Vivaldi, Bach and Handel that suits the Renaissance aesthetic and mood. The result is a distinctive, atmosphere-rich adventure where art history and humor collide in a thoughtfully designed, standalone experience.

Special thanks to SUPERHOT PRESENTS for their support in bringing this quirky, thoughtful procession to life.
